Industry: Consumer Wellness Product (Highly Regulated Advertising Environment)
Client: Direct-to-Consumer Brand
Services: Google Ads, Landing Pages, Conversion Optimization, Compliance Strategy
The Challenge
The client was launching a consumer product in an industry with some of the strictest advertising restrictions on major platforms.
Success wasn’t simply about generating clicks.
Every landing page, advertisement, keyword, and call-to-action had to be carefully planned to comply with advertising policies while still convincing customers to purchase.
The project required balancing compliance with performance—something many agencies struggle to do.
My Approach
Rather than relying on aggressive marketing claims, I built the campaign around user intent and policy compliance from the ground up.
The project included:
- Google Search campaign architecture built around high-intent searches
- Carefully researched keyword strategy focused on compliant search intent
- Custom landing pages written specifically for advertising compliance
- Separate checkout experience that allowed the advertising experience to remain policy-friendly
- Ongoing optimization of headlines, messaging, and user flow
- Continuous monitoring for policy issues as campaigns evolved
Every piece of the funnel was designed to maximize conversions while reducing the risk of account suspensions or ad disapprovals.
The Results
The campaign successfully launched and continued running in one of Google’s more challenging advertising categories.
Highlights included:
- Successfully launched compliant Google Search campaigns
- Maintained advertising eligibility without policy violations
- Built multiple landing page variations for testing
- Improved conversion flow through ongoing optimization
- Created a scalable advertising framework capable of supporting future growth
Perhaps the biggest success wasn’t a single metric—it was building a system that could continue operating in an environment where many advertisers never make it past launch.
The Bigger Lesson
Marketing isn’t always about writing better ads.
Sometimes the biggest challenge is understanding the rules well enough to compete without breaking them.
When businesses operate in regulated industries, success often comes from thoughtful strategy, careful implementation, and continuous refinement—not shortcuts.
Why This Project Matters
This project reinforced something I’ve seen throughout my career:
Every business has constraints.
Sometimes it’s a limited budget.
Sometimes it’s outdated technology.
Sometimes it’s advertising policies that leave little room for error.
The best marketing strategy isn’t the one that ignores those constraints—it’s the one that works within them while still creating measurable business growth.
